Funeral services for Orlan Lee Walter, 28, Maquoketa, were held in Macon, Mo., Nov. 23. Burial was in the Ten Mile Baptist cemetery at Ten Mile, Mo.

Walter is the husband of the former Sharon Jennings of Tipton.

He was killed in a pickup truck-car accident near Bloomfield, Nov. 20. He was driving the truck and pulling a boat while Mrs. Walter and their son, Tracy, 5, were following in a car. Investigating officers said that Flola Ilene York, 57, Lancaster, Mo., drove through a stop sign and struck the right side of Walter's pickup.

The truck careened off an island at the intersection and flipped over on its side. Walter was pronounced dead at the Davis county hospital. Death was due to severe head injuries.

Walter was married to Sharon Jennings, April 12, 1969 and they had been living in Maquoketa. They were moving from Maquoketa to the Kansas City area at the time of his death. A veteran of the war in Southeast Asia, he was a truck driver, working for the Hannibal-Quincy-Kansas City truck line at the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Tracy; his father, Ordell Walter, Macon, Mo.; his mother, Mrs. Florence Gessner, Maquoketa and 2 sisters, Mrs. Robert (Elaine) Craigg, Callas, Mo., and Mrs. Arnold (Diane) Cross, Bevier, Mo.
