Karen was born March 25, 1939 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Roy and Lula (Ringen) Wilslef. She is a 1957 graduate of the Preston High School. On September 4, 1981, Karen married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Aldis. Karen and Bob met while Karen owned and operated the Welcome Inn Restaurant and Bar in Goose Lake during the late seventies and early eighties. They celebrated 34 years of marriage until Bob’s passing June 26, 2016.

In 1984, Karen became a cook at the Preston Schools. She loved cooking for the students and many of them have remembered her for her caring and great cooking. She took pride in going the extra mile for the kids. Karen was a member of the St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Most important, Karen was the best Grandma! She was the kind of Grandma that made special times, like participating in playing tea-party and getting down on the floor while “farming.” All the grandkids and great-grandkids loved her famous pancakes. When they were older, Karen followed all their sporting events. She will be remembered as a very loving Mother and Grandma.

Karen will be dearly missed by five children, Lynn (Charles Lange) Lozano of Clinton, Iowa, Morse Goodell, Jr. of Low Moor, Iowa, John (Alicia) Aldis of Oxnard, California, Jim (Carmen) Aldis of Minnesota, Jody (Chuck) Tebbe of Spragueville, Iowa; eleven grandchildren, Jason (Heather) Lightfoot, Adam Lozano, Ian Lozano, Rachel (Aaron) Krogman, Emily (Antony) Gladwyn-Nash, Avri Aldis, Landon Aldis, Alex Aldis, Jamie Aldis, Daren Tebbe and Brook (Denver) Hudrlick; and ten great-grandchildren, Autumn, Liberty, Governor, Justice, Nick, Noah, Naomi, Andrew, Owen, Mabel and one great-grandson on the way. She is also survived by two sisters, Sandi (John) Ortega of Davenport and Diane (David) Jargo of Preston; and a brother, Allen (Karen) Wilslef of Texas. Karen is preceded in death by her husband, Bob, both parents, and a daughter, Sherri Goodell.
