Obituary
John H. Frett, 84, of Maquoketa passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at the Maquoketa Care Center.

His funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, August 19, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Maquoketa. A visitation will be held prior to his services from 8:00-10:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Sugar Creek. Dawson Funeral Services of Maquoketa is caring for his family.

John Henry was born on January 29, 1938 to Nicholas and Anna (Schreiber) Frett. On April 24, 1963 he was united in marriage to Mary Wagemester at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Clinton. He served faithfully and honorably in the Iowa National Guard. John farmed in Jackson County for many years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Maquoketa. He enjoyed playing cards with his family and friends.

Those left to cherish his memories are his two sons; David (Julie) Frett of Bellevue, Glen Frett of rural Preston, three grandchildren; Breanna, Jacquel, Shania, two great-grandchildren; Braylon and Aleena and a brother Paul (Viola) Frett of Maquoketa.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a sister Dorothy.

Memorials may be directed to John’s family in his honor.
