Clifton Yappen
Maquoketa, Iowa--Services for Clifton L. Yappen, 76, of Maquoketa, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Carson & Son Cremation Services, Maquoketa. Burial will be in the Andrew Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Yappen died Monday, Dec. 27, 1999, at Jackson County Public Hospital, Maquoketa.
He had worked at Savanna Ordnance Proving Grounds; Clinton Engines, Maquoketa; and farmed near Andrew for many years.
He was born Jan. 29, 1923, in Green Island. He married LaVonne Haley in 1944 in Davenport.
Memorials may be made to Clifton L. Yappen Memorial Fund.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Sharon Cornelius, Fulton, Ill., Linda Cox, Marion, and Carol Engler, Clinton; sons, David, Preston, and Patrick, Bellevue; 12 grandchildren; a step-grandchild; eight great-grandchildren; and sisters, Christine Daehler, Maquoketa, and Edna Tracy, Baldwin.
