Sandra J. "Sandy" Rich, 78, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 3, 2022, at the Jackson County Regional Health Center in Maquoketa, Iowa.

A celebration of her life will be held at 10 A.M., Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 P.M., Friday, April 8, 2022, at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Maquoketa, Iowa.

Sandra Jean Gleason was born on June 8, 1943 in Dubuque, Iowa, to Paul and Melinda (Hermes) Gleason. She was a 1961 graduate of Dubuque Wahlert High School. She married William Lewis "Bill" Rich on May 6, 1977 in Maquoketa, Iowa.

"Sandy" had worked at Sunshine Pre-School and Day Care in Maquoketa for several years, and then became the secretary and vice president of B & E Machine Company in Clinton for over 25 years, until retirement.

"Sandy" enjoyed camping and it was her favorite hobby. She and "Bill" had camped in various locations but mainly at Walnut Acres in Monticello and Off-Shore in Bellevue. Additionally, she enjoyed golfing, but most of all she loved spending time with and following her grandchildren's lives.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, William L. "Bill" Rich of Maquoketa, IA; children, Jeff (Deborah) Manderscheid of Maquoketa, IA, Craig (Pamela) Manderscheid of Zwingle, IA, Christie Manderscheid of Dubuque, IA, Jodi (Adam) Watters of Mesa, AZ, Bill J. (Sarah) Rich of Maquoketa, IA, Lisa (Bubby Creasy) Rich of Valdosta, GA, and Jennifer Rich of Augusta, GA; 14 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Nancy Chapman of Dubuque, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Mike, and a brother Jack.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a Sandra J. "Sandy" Rich memorial fund has been established.
