FUNERAL RITES FOR MRS. TOMPKINS HELD IN PRESTON TODAY
PRESTON, IA - (special) - Funeral services for Mrs. Catherine Tompkins, 78, who died Monday were held here at 10 a.m. today in the Congregational church. The Rev. E.J. Starr officiated. Burial was in Van Buren cemetery.
She was born Jan. 21, 1863, near Springbrook, Ia. She married Coleman Tompkins who died April 3, 1925. She had lived in Jackson county her entire life.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Eliza Beavers of Adah, Minn, and Mae at home; two sons, Joe of Maquoketa and Marvin of Sabula and one brother Jerome Jaynes of Springbook, Ia.
