Lorraine L. Owen, 95, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Clover Ridge Place in Maquoketa, her home for the past nine years.

A celebration of Lorraine's life will be held at 11 A.M., Friday, January 21, 2022, at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa, Iowa.

Lorraine Loleta Busch was born on January 27, 1926, in Nashville, Iowa, to Gerhardt and Bertha (Tamm) Busch. She was a graduate of Maquoketa High School. She married George Darrell Owen on September 9, 1944, in South Mills, North Carolina, while George was stationed in the Navy. One son, Douglas Wayne was born to this union.

Lorraine had worked as a secretary at Clinton Engines Corporation in Maquoketa for 50 years and retired in 1993. In retirement she worked part-time at CEC.

Lorraine loved to spend time with her family, going to the boat, reading, and crocheting. She was a member of the Business Professional Women's Club for several years, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and the WaTana Club.

Those left to honor her memory include a son and daughter-in-law, Douglas Wayne and Jeanne Owen of Maquoketa, IA; 2 grandchildren, Melissa (Steve) Bormann of LeClere, IA, and Chad (Sara) Owen of Minneapolis, MN; and 4 great-grandchildren, Chelsea (David) Nelson, Brandon Bormann, Ani Owen and Nora Owen; and one great-great-grandson due in July. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George on September 17, 2012, an infant grandson Brent Douglas Owen, and 4 sisters Nina Weirup, Minnie Buck Druehl, Velma Duhme and Helen Hute.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a Lorraine L. Owen memorial fund has been established.
