CANTON - James Conley, 24-year-old farmer, was killed last Sunday, when he was drawn into the belt of a woodsaw which he was repairing. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Carson funeral home in Maquoketa. The Rev. Milton Nothdurft officiating. Burial was made in Hickory Grove cemetery near Canton.

Mr. Conley was born May 29, 1926 near Emeline. On August 22, 1943 he was married to Velma Husman, who with three small daughters survive. They are: Judith Ann, Jane Ellen and Janice Kay. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Reno Brady of Maquoketa and Mrs. Kalvin Heister, who lived near him; also an uncle, Israel Conley who reared him after the death of his parents, twenty years ago. One son and three brothers also preceded him in death.
