Amy Jo DeLarm, 57, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Saturday morning, September 4, 2021 at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa,

Amy Jo Weets was born in Maquoketa, Iowa to Max and Veda Weets on August 9, 1964. She was a graduate of Maquoketa Community High School.

She married Ronald DeLarm in 1985 and they had 4 beautiful daughters.

Amy was a stay-at-home mom when her girls were young. Later she had several different jobs. She even spent some time entertaining at nursing homes and community events as "Cookie the Clown"! Amy spent the last few years working as a consultant for John Deere, helping customers over the phone with issues they had with their John Deere equipment. She enjoyed that work so much and did a great job helping so many.

More than anything, Amy enjoyed life. She loved her family, her time on Facebook and she loved good music. She was a big Jimmy Buffett fan and was even able to attend one of his concerts in Las Vegas a few years ago. She also enjoyed Gospel music in her later years.

Those left behind to honor her memory are her daughters, Melinda, Melissa (Jayson), Marcy Jo (Micheal), and Melanie; her 12 grandchildren; her sister, Connie (Don), and her niece, Jennifer, and nephew, David (Becky); and long-time friend, Jason Urwin. The family is so grateful that Jason sat by Amy's side for many, many long hours before she left this earth. We are also grateful that Amy is no longer in pain, and is at peace.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date to celebrate the life of Amy. As one of her daughters said: "She was a wonderful, awesome mom who always did the very best that she could!" We know that Heaven has a new angel!!

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be directed to the family.

The Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa is caring for the family. Please feel free to call or stop at the funeral home with notes of support or leave words of comfort on the funeral home website at www.CarsonAndSon.com.
