Georgia May Templeton, 88, of Clinton, IA, passed away on Monday, August 30, 2021, at Maquoketa Care Center in Maquoketa, IA.

Born Georgia May Archer on September 26, 1932, in Camanche, IA, she was one of five children of George and Bertha (Owen) Archer. She grew up in Camanche and married Ronald Kent Templeton on April 2, 1950, in Morrison, IL. He preceded her in death on May 24, 2005.

Georgia was a devoted wife of 55 years to her husband, and a loving, wonderful mom to two daughters, six sons, grandmother to 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

She loved nothing more than family gatherings and she always made holidays and occasions special by her presence.

She enjoyed the outdoors, and fall was her favorite season. She loved swinging on her porch swing, visiting with neighbors and family. She was a Country music fan and she enjoyed attending concerts and shows. Long car rides (no matter the destination), dining out (even though a great cook), and shopping were some of the things she liked to do most.

She was a woman of courage, strength, and compassion, and could always be counted on to be there when anyone needed her.

Georgia will always be remembered for her kind heart and devotion to the ones she loved.

Those honoring her memory include children, Trent Templeton of Arizona, Pam Arnold of Alton, IL, Mark (Deb) Templeton of Maquoketa, IA, Tracy (Verna) Templeton of Dandrich, TN, and Brian (Deb) Templeton of DeForest, WI, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many friends and family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, 2 sisters, her husband, and three of her children, Randy, Marla and Todd.

"Remember her with smiles and laughter, not tears, for that is how she will remember you."

At Peace Cremation Services have been provided by Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa, and private burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Camanche, IA.
