Obituary

Blayne Kurtis Budde

It is with deep and heartfelt sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of our beloved Blayne Kurtis Budde. On Tuesday August 3, 2021 Blayne, 57, formerly of Bellevue & Dubuque, Iowa passed away at his home in Panama City Beach, Florida. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Blayne was born May 31, 1964 in Bellevue, IA, the "baby" and 16th child of Orville and Ila (Sommers) Budde. He graduated from Senior High School, Dubuque, IA in 1982. Blayne was self-employed as a contractor for FedEx in Pensacola/PCB, FL until his partial retirement when he began to help host/manage vacation rentals as part of a shared family business.

In his early years Blayne enjoyed rugby and beach volleyball. He was a fan of Iowa Hawkeye Sports, especially football. He had a great sense of humor, loved to laugh and loved to make others laugh, even if the laugh was on him. Together with his soul mate of 28 years, Robbin Schott, they enjoyed camping, canoeing, bicycling and the beach. Blayne and his brother Brent, "Yogi", played many memorable rounds of golf and shared some fun-filled vacations to the Bahamas. Blayne enjoyed many visits, especially the ones in most recent years, from his brother, Jimmy, and sister-in-law, Barb, from Iowa. They shared many memorable times together, grilling out, good laughs and Barb's great cooking! He had a caring side for animals and will be deeply missed by his pets: 3 cats, Bindi, Boo and Trick and his dog, Boomer.

Those left to honor his memory include his soul mate and lifelong companion, Robbin Schott of Panama City Beach, FL originally of Cedar Rapids, IA, her parents, Dwayne and Amber Schott, her sister, Tauna (Iain) Roy, niece and Goddaughter Alexis "Lexi" Hoerr, all of Fort Myers Beach, FL and nephew, Corporal Samuel A. Hoerr, US Marine Corps. currently stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC, brothers: Dale (Norma Vaughn) of East Dubuque, IL, Jim (Barb) Budde of Bellevue, IA, Tom of Dubuque, IA, Kevin (Jean) of Long Grove, IA, Brent (Denise Mixon) of Pensacola, FL, Troy of Dubuque, IA, Todd of San Diego, CA, sisters: Marilynn (Dale) Junk of Bellevue, IA, Doris (Dave) Felderman of Dubuque, IA, Yvette McClimans of Bellevue, IA, Marcia Budde of Denver, CO, sisters-in-law: Cheryl Budde of Bellevue, IA and Nancy Budde of Mt. Hermon, LA, Godchildren: niece, Stacy Budde-Heiar, of Bellevue, IA, nephew Marco Paul Wiedereander of Denver, CO, many, many nieces and nephews, and many close friends including longtime family friends Jon and Lucy Malone of Niceville, FL, sons Luke (Godchild) and Mac.

Blayne was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Ila, three brothers: Glenn, Raymond (Buster), Johnny, one sister: Marla True, and two brothers-in-law: LeRoy Felderman and Fred McClimans.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization for which Blayne had a special place in his heart, or to any Animal Rescue Organizations.
