Janice Louise Brennan (1939-2021

Janice L. "Jan" Hahn, 82, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2021, at the Jackson County Regional Health Center in Maquoketa.

A gathering of family and friends celebrating her life will be held from 4 to 7 P.M., Thursday, July 8, 2021, at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Cremation has taken place.

Janice Louise Brennan was born on March 2, 1939 in Clark County, Missouri to Thomas J. Brennan and Marie C. (Bader) Brennan. She was educated in St. Patrick High School in Missouri and then attended Mount St. Clare College in Clinton. She married LaVern Herm Hahn on February 23, 1964 in Bettendorf, Iowa. He preceded her in death in 1971.

Jan retired from Pacific Coast Feather Co. in Maquoketa in 2001. In retirement she worked at the Jackson County Senior Center as a cook until 2014, and then at the Jack & Jill deli, and most recently the Fareway Deli until April of this year.

Jan loved gardening, reading, cooking, and was a great lover of animals. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed going to the casino.

Those left to honor her memory include her children, Randy (Teri) Hahn of Anchorage, AK, Rhonda Hahn of Maquoketa, IA, Bob Hahn of Chiefland, FL, and Denise "Red" Hahn of Chiefland, FL; Tracy Mangler of Maquoketa, IA whom she considered a daughter; a brother, J.V. (Robyn) Brennan of Janesville, WI; and sisters, Carolyn (Paul) Kamp of Des Moines, IA, Martha Harrison of Flower Mound, TX, and Mary (Gene) Lindsey of Canton, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband LaVern, a brother Mickey Brennan, brother-in-law John Harrison, niece Whitney Harrison, and children LaVern Jr. and Paula Hahn-Wasson.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a Janice L. "Jan" Hahn memorial fund has been established.

The family would like to especially thank Hospice of Jackson County and Dr. Bybee for their wonderful care and concern.
