On hospital boat, near Cairo, Ill., on the 20th February, 1863, of chronic diarrhea, JOHN H. ABEL, of Andrew, Iowa, a member of Co. I, 31st Iowa Vol. Inf., in the 29th year of his age.

At Jefferson Barracks, Mo., on March 2d, 1863, of chronic diarrhea, DATUS E. ABEL, of Andrew, Iowa, a member of Co. I, 31st Iowa Vol. Inf., in the 27th year of his age.

At LaGrange, Tenn., on the 10th of March, 1863, of small pox, JEREMIAH W. ABEL, of Andrew, Iowa, a musician of the 2d Iowa Cav. Brass Band, in the 19th year of his age.

Thus three brothers have fallen a sacrifice to this grievous war. Lovely and pleasant in their lives, they were not far divided in their death, being lamented by loved ones far away.
