Steven L. Daniels, 64, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 12, 2020, at his home.
A public graveside service and burial celebrating Steven’s life will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Streets Cemetery, rural Maquoketa, Iowa. A public visitation will take place from 4 to 7 P.M. on Friday, October 16, 2020, at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa.
It is recommended to practice social distancing guidelines due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Steven L. Daniels was born on September 19, 1956 in Bellevue, Iowa, to Delbert L. and Judith Faye (Keil) Daniels. He was a 1974 graduate of Bellevue High School. He married Cindy Sue Schreiber Bowling on November 19, 1993 in Maquoketa, Iowa.
Steven had worked for Bowman’s Meat Locker in Andrew for 17 years, Preston Meats, and lastly retired from the HyVee Meat Department in 2019.
Steven was a member of First Lutheran Church in Maquoketa and had served as a former Baldwin City Council member and Baldwin Fire Department member. In earlier years, he had also been active as a Boy Scout leader and coached baseball and softball.
Steven loved spending time with his family, grandchildren, fur kid (Smokie) and fur grandkids. He enjoyed fishing, and collected hot wheels, baseball cards, and trains. He was an avid NASCAR, Iowa State football, St. Louis Cardinals, and WWE fan.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Cindy Daniels of Maquoketa, IA; children, Brenda Huffman of Maquoketa, IA, Missie Vaughn of Knoxville, IL, Katie (Dillon Williams) Daniels of Baldwin, IA, and Joshua (Sierra) Daniels of Norwalk, IA; 6 grandchildren, Reighan Huffman, Alexa Huffman, Isabella McNamee, Alayna Daniels, Eli McNamee, and Riot Daniels; a brother, Mark Daniels of Maquoketa, IA; and a sister, Lura (Mike Duhme) Daniels of Otter Creek, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Barbie Daniels.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a Steven L. Daniels memorial fund has been established.
