Kenneth Peter Roling, 80, of DeWitt, Iowa, died Monday afternoon, September 21, 2020, at Bettendorf Health Care Center.
Ken was born December 14, 1939, in Maquoketa, Iowa, to the late Benedict and Laurentia (Reuter) Roling. He married Diane Petersen January 19, 1963, at St. Irenaeus Catholic Church, Clinton. Early in his life, Ken farmed and worked at John Deere, DeWitt. He was employed by Economy Coating, Camanche until retirement.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt. Ken enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, woodworking, camping, watching RFDTV, and most recently the Chicago Cubs.
Surviving are his wife of over 57 years, Diane; children, Kevin (Tammy) Roling of Bryant, Lisa Roling of Des Moines and Allen (Jessica) Roling of Preston; seven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; siblings, Leo "Pete" Roling of Bryant, Bertha Pfab and Karen (Eugene) Pfab of Dubuque, twins, Doris (Dan) Lawrence, Miles and Delores Wood, DeWitt, James Roling of Ankeny, Lois (Darrell) Trenkamp of Maquoketa, Ruthann "Annie" (Terry) Hahn of Charlotte and Larry (Joan) Roling of Sugar Creek; many nieces and nephews.
Also preceding Ken in death was his son, Mark.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 24, 2020, with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m.. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 25, 2020, at St. Joseph Catholic, Sugar Creek with the Rev. Fr. Stephen Page and Sister Janet Heier, SSND officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be nephews, Scott Roling, Larry Pfab, Jason Pfab, Jeff Trenkamp, Chris Lawrence, Phillip Hahn, Rob Roling and Ben Roling. Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren, Mary Roling, Mark Roling, Kelley Roling, Molly King, Isaac Roling, Wyatt Roling and Makena Roling.
