Grace I. Dague, 87, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 16, 2020, at her home surrounded by her family.

A public graveside service and burial celebrating her life will be held at 11 A.M., Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at Bridgeport Cemetery, rural Maquoketa, Iowa. There is no public visitation. A private family viewing will be held at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Cremation rites will be accorded.

Grace Ilene Howell was born on August 19, 1933 in Maquoketa, Iowa, to George Esben and Gertrude Leora (Elliott) Howell. She grew up in the Maquoketa area and received her GED. She married Dock S. "Jack" Dague on November 15, 1952 in Maquoketa, Iowa. He preceded her in death on November 26, 2001.

Grace was a homemaker and had worked at Swift Company in Clinton for 14 years.

Grace was a member of the Apostolic Gospel Tabernacle Church in Maquoketa. She enjoyed crocheting, fishing, watching birds, spending time with family and friends, and attending church.

Those left to honor her memory include her children, Doraine "Dee" Dague of Maquoketa, IA, James (Vi) Dague of Maquoketa, IA, Janice Hamilton of Maquoketa, IA, Bruce (Michele) Dague of Maquoketa, IA, Mark (Naomi) Dague of Preston, IA, Kirby (Candice) Dague of Maquoketa, IA, and Tracy Dague of Maquoketa, IA; a daughter-in-law, Barb Dague of Maquoketa, IA; 23 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren; and her beloved dog Princess Tia. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son Rex, grandchildren Skyler Smith and Emma Galloway, brothers John Riordan, Cecil Howell, Floyd Howell, Joseph Riordan, Donald Riordan and Marion Howell, and sisters Verna Ketchum and Florence Sutton.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a Grace I. Dague memorial fund has been established.
