Ruth D. Huebbe, 87, of Baldwin, Iowa, passed away on Friday morning, May 29, 2020, at her son Darrell's home in rural Maquoketa.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2:30 P.M., Wednesday, June 3, 2020, at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 P.M. on Tuesday, June 2, 2020, at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Burial will be at Hickory Grove Cemetery, rural Monmouth, Iowa.

Ruth Delores Scott was born on November 6, 1932 in Jackson County, Iowa, to George Sr. and Augusta (Peters) Scott. She was a 1949 graduate of Maquoketa High School. She married Harry J. Huebbe on August 20, 1953 in Andrew, Iowa. To this union three children were born, Harold, Darrell and Brenda.

Ruth had farmed all of her life, raising hogs, cattle and dairy farming. She had also worked at Community Helping Hands in Maquoketa, and lastly cleaned houses for the elderly.

Ruth was a former member of the Emeline Ladies Aid. She enjoyed gardening, both flowers and vegetable, and crocheting.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Harry J. Huebbe of Baldwin, IA; children, Harold (Cathy) Huebbe of Maquoketa, IA, Darrell Huebbe of Maquoketa, IA, and Brenda (Ed "Kleater") Beidler of Maquoketa, IA; 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Elmer and Rachel Huebbe of Maquoketa, IA and Phyllis Scott of Maquoketa, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother George "Sonny" Scott Jr.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a Ruth D. Huebbe memorial fund has been established.
