Baldwin, Iowa, May 12--William T. Scheib, a former resident of Baldwin, passed away at his home in Los Angeles, Calif., May 1, 1915. His parents moved from Skuyikill County, Pa., to Iowa, in 1867. Four years later he enlisted in the 16th regiment of Iowa. He received an honorable discharge in 1862. After returning home he taught in the district school for awhile. In 1867 he entered the hardware business in Baldwin in which he continued for many years. He held different offices of trust in town and was very generally respected by all who knew him. He was a resident of Baldwin for 43 years. Five years ago, he with his family, moved to California. Mrs. Scheib, the three daughters, Mrs. Ada Lenz of Idaho, Mrs. Bessie Tozer of Redlands, Calif., Nellie at home and the two sons, Harry, living in Idaho and Roy at home, mourn his departure.
