Maquoketa, Iowa, Dec. 6--At his home in the First ward, David Saunders, aged about 74 years, passed away Monday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock after an illness of six weeks. Deceased had been a resident of this community for many years and enjoyed the respect of a wide circle of friends. He is survived by his wife and four daughters, one of whom resides in Davenport, one in Moline, one at Clinton and another in North Dakota. He also leaves several step-children. The funeral was held from the late home yesterday morning at ten o'clock and the remains taken to Clinton for interment.

The remains of the late D. Z. Sanders, who died at his home in Maquoketa, arrived in the city yesterday afternoon and were laid to rest in Springdale cemetery. The funeral was held yesterday morning in Maquoketa, where the deceased has lived for about eight years. He was a resident of Clinton for about fifteen years. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Nellie Harvey of Clinton, Mrs. Huggins of Davenport, and Mrs. Green of Moline, and one grandson, Frank Harvey.
