BRANDON--Joe Nowacheck, 85, Monmouth, former resident of the Brandon vicinity, died Saturday, June 25, in the Jackson County Public hospital, Maquoketa.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, June 27, in the Methodist church, Monmouth. Rev. Dan Benedict officiated. Burial was in the Monmouth cemetery.

He farmed in the Brandon vicinity until his retirement when he and his family moved to Monmouth.

Survivors include one son, Everett, Maquoketa; three daughters, Jessie Thorsen, North Carolina; Agnes Bowers, Charlotte; Inez Nowacheck, Monmouth.

He was preceded in death by his wife; and one son, Joseph "Dick" Nowacheck in February of this year.

Those of the Brandon area attending the services were his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Milly Nowacheck; his grandchildren, Acel and Janet Nowacheck, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Nowacheck and Mr. and Mrs. Duane Heath.

Others included Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Gilmore, Floyd Wyrick, Mrs. Merle Caraway, Mrs. Lumir Koranda and Mrs. Loren Francis.
