Preston, Iowa, Nov. 2--Jennie Pearl Boothby was born on the old homestead southwest of Preston, Iowa, November 26th, 1890, where she spent the early part of her life. She received her education in the local public schools graduating with honors in June, 1917. During the year of 1910 she moved with her parents to Preston, Iowa, and two years later was united in marriage to Willis Bethel. For nearly three years she has been almost a constant sufferer from a complication of troubles, those nearest her not realizing the extent of her ailment for she bore them patiently and uncomplainingly.

Finally in order to find relief she submitted to an operation at the Agatha hospital, Saturday, October 20th, at which place she departed this life Thursday, October 25th, at the age of 26 years, 10 months and 29 days. She possessed the true mother spirit and desired to be spared that she might throw about her children the mother love and care they needed through life.

She leaves to mourn her departure three children, Mildred aged 5 years, Berdina aged 2 years and James, 14 months old. A father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. John Boothby, two sisters and one brother, Mrs. J. D. Simmons, Mrs. Edwin Dalton and Bert Boothby all of Preston, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held from the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Boothby, Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. C. E. Wandby, pastor of the Congregational church. Interment was made in the Preston cemetery.
