Christ Hansen Peterson, aged 63 years, 3 months and 2 days, passed away at his home on Route 4, Maquoketa, on Thursday, Sept. 20, 1917 at 2:15 p.m. Mr. Peterson had been ailing for eleven years and had been confined to his home for the past year. He was born in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, and was married Oct. 7, 1877 to Hanna Jensen. He came to this country in 1879, locating at Preston, and later moved to Maquoketa. His occupation was farming. He leaves to mourn his loss a wife, five girls and five boys, as follows: Mrs. Frank Boyle, of Chicago; Neils Peterson, of Rumford, S.D.; Mrs. Wm. Beck, Mrs. Gottlob Beck, Jens Peterson, of Maquoketa; Hans Peterson, of Isabel, S.D.; Peter Peterson and Mrs. Harry Cikkoq, of Hurley, S.D.; Miss Mary Peterson and Mr. Ingwart Peterson, at home; also a brother, Peter Peterson, of Chicago, and fourteen grandchildren.
