Obituary for Warren "Cookie" Wilbur Koch
Warren “Cookie” Wilbur Koch, age 68, of Miles, Iowa, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2019 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Preston, Iowa. Burial will take place in the Miles Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Preston.

Warren was born February 16, 1951, the son of Wilbur and Phyllis (Struve) Koch in Savanna, Illinois. He attend Miles High School, and Graduated with the class of 1969. In 1970 a car accident left Warren paralyzed. Warren was lead to overcome many obstacles in the coming years due to his serious injury, but he never let the accident slow him down.
Warren worked on his family farm his entire life. For his efforts in agriculture he was awarded with the outstanding young farmer award. Outside of his work, Warren was an involved member in his community. He spent 7 years on the EC school board, served on the Clinton County Solid and Water Conservation Board for 26 years, and worked with Easter Seals Rural Solutions, an organization that uplifted the lives of disabled farmers and helped them get back to work. Warren was an inspiration to all and was always ready to help friends, family, or just about anybody, and the community would return these favors in kind. Warren loved his family and especially enjoyed attending the school events and performances of Morgan and Tyler. He was an avid supporter of any school events home or away. He enjoyed going to tractor pulls, stock car races, and playing cards with friends. Warren also enjoyed watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Bears, and Chicago Cubs. On any given morning you'd be able to find Warren at the shop for his morning chat sessions.

Warren will be dearly missed by his Sister, Wanda Koch; his niece, Wendy Hines; his great-niece, Morgan Hines; his great-nephew, Tyler Hines; and by many dear friends. Warren his proceeded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Phyllis Koch
