Maquoketa, Iowa, May 31--John E. Morgan, better known among his old friends here as Emmet Morgan, died at noon Tuesday, May 29th, 1917, at Cedar Rapids at the home of his son, Will, 73 years, 7 months and six days.

The remains were brought in on the early train this morning and the funeral was held this afternoon from the M.E. church. Rev. Kidder officiating, followed by interment in Mt. Hope cemetery.

Mr. Morgan left Maquoketa a few years ago to make his home with his son will. He was a member of the Company B, 26th Iowa Infantry, ? Harrison, captain.
