10 April 1917 - The Clinton Advertiser page 8

Preston, Ia., April 10--Martha Fleming was born January 22, 1890, on the old homestead of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fleming, near Miles, Iowa, and died Wednesday afternoon, April 4, 1917, at the age of 27 year, 2 months and 13 days. She grew to womanhood on the old homestead with her parents and received her education in the Miles public schools, in which institution she was a favorite scholar because of the kind, loveable disposition which she possessed and which never forsook her. She became the wife of Harry Prussia, March 10, 1915, since when she and the loving young husband have resided at this home, in which they have been permitted to enjoy the sweet, blissful life for a brief spell of but two short years, through the mysterious commands of Him who ruleth all things. Left to mourn her departure are her parents, her two brothers and her two sisters, who with the loving husband have the deepest sympathy that can be shown by a great community which is manifested by this great congregation. Covered with beautiful flowers and followed by sorrowing relatives and friends, she was carried to Van Buren cemetery and there she was gently laid to rest in dreamless sleep until the sunrise of that new day when our tears shall be wiped away and we shall meet our loved ones again.
