Preston, Ia., March 27--The saddest funeral held in Riggs for a long time was conducted by Rev. Jobst, pastor of the German Lutheran church on Saturday, March 24 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schroeder when the last rites were held over the remains of their son Henry Schroeder. Henry was taken suddenly ill Tuesday afternoon with pneumonia and other complications which brought his young life to a close Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock.

He was born in 1887 and leaves to mourn his loss his parents, four sisters and five brothers.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning. The Preston choir furnished appropriate music.

Covered with beautiful flowers and followed by sorrowing relatives and friends he was carried to McC?? cemetery and there he was gently laid to rest in dreamless sleep until the sunrise of that new day when our tears shall be wiped away and we shall meet our loved ones again.

In the days to come time will take away some of the bitterness of grief and will leave us the beautiful memories of his goodness, his gentleness and his confidence.
