Bert Saunders, 83, Onslow, formerly of Maquoketa, passed away on February 25, 1976, at the Jackson County Hospital in Maquoketa.

He was born April 15, 1892, in Clinton county, the son of George and Minnie Downer Sauders. He married Pearl Scott on March 10, 1915 at Elwood. He was a retired farmer.

He is survived by 1 son, Lloyd, Wyoming, 4 daughters, Mrs. Elmer (Beulah) Duhme, Marion, Mrs. Elmer (Myrtle) Watters, Maquoketa, Mrs. Elmer (Wilma) Harder, Delmar, and Mrs. David (Marjorie) Clemens, Cedar Rapids, 1 brother, Eldon, Maquoketa, 4 sisters, Mrs. Linda Kohemuller, Mrs. Elsie Watters, Maquoketa, Mrs. Ethel Lindsey, Belvidere, Ill., and Mrs. Zelba Banks, Spokane, Wash., 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

He was preceeded in death by his parents, wife, 1 infant, 2 brothers & 1 sister.

Services were held on Friday, February 27 at the Carson Funeral Home. Burial was in Peace Cemetery.
