He was a very ardent supporter of every movement for the uplifting of the community and was an enthusiastic temperance worker and a strong believer in God and His commandment. His oft-repeated ideals were "Clean Thought and Clean Living" and he faithfully taught these principles for nearly a century. His faithful wife ws permitted to remain with him until within nine years of his journey's end. Seven children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Robinson, two of whom died in infancy. Those surviving are: Mrs. L. S. Hastings, DeWitt; Mrs. I. W. Knight, Maquoketa; J. W. Robinson, Huron, S.D.; Rev. John Q. Robinson, Washington, D.C.; M. A. Robinson of Maquoketa. Besides these children there are 32 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren, 52 in all. Mr. Robinson's mind was clear and active up to within a few days of his death. A remarkable life has just closed.
