Bellevue, Ia., Jan. 10--Death entered the home of Mr. John Heckelsmiller on South Front street Thursday morning and summoned the husband and father after many months of suffering. Mr. Heckelsmiller was born in Nackenhein, Germany, 60 years ago last June. He came to America with his parents when five years of age and they settled at Galena, where he grew to manhood and married Miss Sophia Geiger 44 years ago and came to Jackson county. The wife and three daughters and five sons survive. Three sons reside at Bellevue, one at Galena, one at Rockford, Ill.; one daughter resides here, one in Oregon and one at Oregon, Ill. The funeral was held Saturday morning from St. Joseph's Catholic church, with burial in the Catholic cemetery.
