Lost Nation Ia., Aug. 9--Mrs. Lavina Downer who has made her home with her son Elmer Downer for some time died Sunday morning. The family were milking, leaving the aged lady in the house. When Mrs. Downer came in to prepare the breakfast, going to the cellar way finding the door open, she discovered Mrs. Downer on the cellar floor where it is presumed she had fallen. She had been subject to sinking spells and the straight fall from the side of the cellar steps to the hard floor had no doubt killed her instantly. The aged lady was 76 years old and was well known and admired by many neighbors and friends in this vicinity. Six children survive, Elmer, of Baldwin, David of Denver, Colo., and Willard of Oklahoma and three daughters, Mrs. McCracken of Illinois, Mrs. Mabel Welch of Oklahoma and Mrs. C. W. Saunders of Baldwin. The funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the Baldwin church with interment in the Baldwin cemetery.
