Maquoketa, Ia. Sept. 5--Harry Lew Rhodes passed away Sunday morning, Sept. 3rd, 1916, age 41 years, 11 months and 26 days, being born in this city on Sept. 7, 1874. He was more familiarly known among the traveling salesmen as "Yank" Rhodes, with whom he was popular for a good many years and at the time of his death was in charge of the elegant auto bus for the Hotel Hurst and will be greatly missed by all.

He had been in failing health for several years. Just after the Maquoketa fair last year he spent two months at Excelsior Springs, Mo., and thought that he was benefitted upon his return home. He was hard to down and worked many days when 'twould be better for him to be in bed. Always cheerful and was at his post of duty Friday before his demise.

He leaves his father, Nelson O. Rhodes, who makes his home with his daughter, Mrs. Clara C??m at Lyons, and one brother, Frank, whose whereabouts we did not learn, besides several aunts and cousins, to mourn his loss.

Prayers were offered at 10 a.m. today at Buchner's chapel and services at 10:30 at the Episcopal church by Rev. H. L. Boissier. Interment at Mt. Hope cemetery, this city.
