Maquoketa, Iowa, July 5--Sunday, July 2, 1916, at 12:34, Mr. James M. Prasser passed this life and entered the great beyond after an illness of about eight weeks from the effects of a stroke of paralysis, aged 67 years, 2 months and 27 days. He was born in Wisconsin, April 5, 1849, and came with his parents in 1854, and settled on a farm near Oxford Junction. His wife preceded him by about 20 years.

Mr. Prosser came to Maquoketa nearly 19 years ago, and was an honest and respected citizen. The funeral was held this afternoon, at 2 o'clock from the home, Rev. Boomershine officiating. Interment was made in Mt. Hope cemetery. Two sons are left to mourn his loss, R. S. and J. H., of Maquoketa.
