Bellevue, Ia. June 28--An aged resident of Jackson county passed away at her home in Jackson township last Saturday. She was born in Boston and married to James Horan at Galena, Ill. in 1845. They came to Jackson county in 1878 and settled on a farm where Mr. Horan died a few years ago, renowned for his great activeness, being well in the 90s and yet thought nothing of the walk of 3 or 10 miles until stricken with pneumonia. She leaves six children, two daughters and four sons. She was buried from the Catholic church in Spring Brook, Father Knapstien conducting the service. Six grandsons acted as pall bearers for the aged lady.
