Maquoketa, Iowa, May 17--Word was received by Mrs. Will Steffey of the death of her brother, Joseph B. Tracy.

Joseph B. Tracy was born at Iron Hills, Ia., on August 29, 1879, and died at Victoria, B.C., April 29, 1916, aged 37 years, 8 months

He was married to Lauretta White of Seattle, Wash., four years ago. He had one son, Glen, who was one year old March 27, 1916. J. B. Tracy was the second son of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Tracy. Left to mourn his death are his aged father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Tracy of this city, two brothers, Robert of Delmar and Evan of Charlotte, Ia., also four sisters, Mrs. John F. Miller and Mrs. Will Steffey, both of this city, Mrs. Will Stowers of Duluth, Minn., and Mrs. W. S. Stedman of Davenport, Ia., besides numbers other relatives and friends.

The following taken from the Victoria, B.C. paper, gives the details regarding Mr. Tracy's death:
"Mr. Joseph Tracy, an employee of Messrs. Grant, Smith & Co., and McDonald, Ltd., died on Saturday night as a result of an accident on Friday afternoon, when he fell and suffered a fractured skull. He was 37 years of age and married. He was a native of Maquoketa, Iowa, U.S.A. and came to this city some five years ago. He was a carpenter by trade.

An inquest was held and a verdict of accidental death returned. He died from injuries received in a fall from a derrick at the quarry of Grant Smith & Co., and McDonald, Ltd."
