Karla L. Rockwell, 54, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at the Jackson County Regional Health Center in Maquoketa, Iowa.

A celebration of Karla's life will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, February 28, 2019, at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 P.M., Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Burial will be at the Sutton Cemetery, rural Maquoketa, Iowa.

Karla Lynn Fuglsang was born on August 21, 1964 in Jackson County, Iowa, to Garan Lee and Lynn DaLea (Weber) Fuglsang. She was a 1983 graduate of Maquoketa Community High School. She married Cecil Gene Rockwell on October 9, 1993 at First Lutheran Church in Maquoketa.

Karla had worked various jobs throughout the years including J.C. Penney Store, KJ's Convenience, FlapJack's Family Restaurant, Kwik Star, and the last several years at Maquoketa State Bank. She also was a part-time bookkeeper for Rockwell Cleanup in Maquoketa.

Karla loved her dog Twix, shopping, going for long walks, eating out and playing cards.

Those left to honor Karla's memory include her husband, Cecil Rockwell of Maquoketa, IA; brothers, Kevin Fuglsang of Dubuque, IA, and Kent (Sally) Fuglsang of Baldwin, IA; sisters, Kim (Mark) Laingen of Normal, IL, and Kayleen (Vince) Aragon of Maquoketa, IA; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, her parents, and a sister-in-law Madge Fuglsang.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a Karla Lynn Rockwell memorial fund has been established.
