Randy, 64, was called and immediately left his earthly home on January 12, 2019 surrounded by music to forever be in service of his Lord Jesus.

Randy was born and raised in Maquoketa to Donald and Doris. Early in life he loved learning, doing, and helping others. Always looking forward to harvesting watermelons with his grandfather, Faye Kempter. He attended and graduated from the Maquoketa Community High School where he participated in football and wrestling. After high school he enlisted into the Navy. He served and was honorably discharged in 1975 adding more to his lifelong friend pool and deep-rooted patriotism. A few years after returning home, he married the love of his life, Krista Wells. His love for the band was fulfilling and motivated many avenues. He played alone and/or with numerous bands his whole life when called upon. He was honored to play for weddings, funerals, church, campfires, for one or for a crowd enjoying all music. He worked for Mt. Hope Cemetery for 25 years. He was currently working at the Family Dollar Distribution Center for the past 17 years. His addictions only enhanced his passion to learn more and work harder towards bliss. So, so many people touched his life. He embraced every encounter. From early on his passion for riding motorcycles was ever-present. Family, friends, wind in his face, freedom, never to have met a stranger. His religious calling was sincere constant and ever learning. He was eager to encourage others sharing prayer fellowship and music at many local churches. He was rebaptized in 2009. Spreading joy of the birth of Jesus Christ led to him playing Santa Claus for 33 years. He was the "real" Santa Claus.

His strong arms will continue to support his wife Krista Wells McCutcheon; mother Doris Kempter McCutcheon Ehl; two children Kurtis (Heather Pierce) McCutcheon of Thompson IL, and Chaya (Josh) Knight of Maquoketa; 8 grandchildren Kenzi, Skarlett, Kaiden, and Zander McCutcheon, Amery Scheper, Braden (Kenzie), Dalton, and Tyson Knight; and siblings Larry (Romel) of Bellevue, Ron of Phoenix, AZ, Bob (Lori) of Larkspur, CO, Dennis (Renee Krause) of Clinton, Mark of Maquoketa, and Lisa of Maquoketa. His love also continues to extend to his nieces and nephews and all family. So many people profoundly touched him. Hoping all people felt his love and no list could ever be long enough.

Cremation has taken place and a private family burial will be held at a later date at Union Cemetery on the family plot next to his father Donald. The family can be seen on Saturday, January 19, 2019, from 11 A.M. to 2 P.M. at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. A service will be held at 2:30 P.M. at Carson Celebration of Life Center.

Please join Randy's family and friends for a meal and of course music at Pearson Hall from 3:30 to 7 P.M. following the service.

"Please keep Rockin Randall in your hearts. Pray, embrace music, and ride. Peace be with you all. Ho, Ho, Ho, Hug your loved ones and say I love you, and say thank you."

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a Randy L. McCutcheon memorial fund has been established.
