MIrdza "Mitzi" Woodard, 76, died December 28, 2018 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. She was born on August 29, 1942, in Dobele, Latvia. While she was a child, she and her family came to the United States, where they were sponsored by a family in Green Island, Iowa. She graduated from the University of Dubuque in 1963 with a major in German. She worked at Farley, Iowa teaching English and German. She later worked at Ennoble Manor in Dubuque. One of her passions was working along side her daughter, Anna Woodward Klostermann putting on a Christmas meal at the Dubuque Rescue Mission.
