Obituary for Wayne Stoddard
Wayne Stoddard, of Savanna, Illinois & Sabula, Iowa passed away Friday, November 30, 2018 at the University of Iowa Hospitals, Iowa City, Iowa. A memorial gathering will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna, with a Celebration of Life at 7:00 p.m.. Wayne was born November 6, 1941 in Sabula, the son of Walter and Lola (Thayer) Stoddard. Wayne grew up on the island city and is a graduate of the Savanna High School. He served in the US Navy, serving overseas. In 1968, Wayne married Mary Lou Troha.

Wayne worked as a Conductor for the Milwaukee Railroad for many years. He later worked as a painter at the Savanna Army Depot, and in Quality Control at Elkay Mfg, Savanna. Wayne enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially the Sandburr Cafe Coffee Club. He spent time woodworking, and in younger years he liked fishing, coon hunting, cutting wood and just spending time outdoors.

Wayne will be dearly missed by his six children, Stephen ( Rita) Brown of Hanover, Barbara (Joel) Ritchie of Savanna, Brian Brown of Savanna, Lisa (Scott) Hubble of Fulton, Lilly Rogers and Lindy Rogers; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Wayne is preceded in death by both parents; his brother, Jake Stoddard; and two sisters, Donna Semrow and Connie Miller
