Obituary for Ardith Spencer

Ardith Spencer, age 73, of Sabula, Iowa, passed away Thursday, November 8, 2018 at the Citadel Care Center in Sterling, Illinois. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 12, 2018 at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Sabula. Burial will follow in the Sterling Cemetery rural Sabula. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m., on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at Law-Jones Funeral Home Savanna, Illinois. A memorial fund has been established in Ardith’s memory.
Ardith was born June 14, 1945, in Chadwick, Illinois, the daughter of August and Genevieve (VanVuren) Rosenow. She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church. Ardith married the love of her life Wes Johnson at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Morrison, Illinois in 1969.
Ardith worked at Elkay. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, they were the apple of her eye. She enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles.
Ardith will be dearly missed by her son Lonnie Johnson of Des Moines, Iowa; daughter Candi (Troy) Withee of Des Moines, Iowa; 2 grandchildren (Nick and Grace Withee); former husband Wes Johnson of Marshalltown, Iowa; one brother, Allen (Cindy) Rosenow of Sterling, Illinois; two sisters, Marlene Gelsinger of Gepp, Arkansas and Gloria Engel of Rock Falls, Illinois; sister in-law Dortha Rosenow of Talala, Oklahoma. Ardith is preceded in death by her parents August and Genevieve, daughter Connie, two brothers, William and August John; and sister, Janice Adams.
