Obituary for Eldon A. Wohlers
Eldon A. Wohlers, 87, of Bellevue, passed away on, Monday, October 15, 2018 at Mill Valley Care Center. Funeral Services will be 12:00 PM (Noon), Saturday, October 20, 2018 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in St. Donatus. Family will greet friends 10:00 AM until service time on Saturday at the church. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in St. Donatus. Arrangements entrusted to Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bellevue.
Eldon was born March 27, 1931 on the family farm in Bellevue the son of John and Agnes (Muchow) Wohlers. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. Eldon was a lifetime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and Bellevue American Legion Post #273. He farmed his entire life and worked for the Bellevue Police Department for 24 years and then the Jackson County Sheriffs Department before retiring . Eldon was a member of the NRA, helped at the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery and was a janitor for the church for many years.
Survivors include his sister, Verna Budde of Bellevue; nieces and nephews, Donald (Beverly) Wohlers, Wayne (Betty) Wohlers, Dale (Rita) Wohlers, Judy (Mike) DeVine, Randy (Chris) Budde, and Jean (Bob) Winter; and several great nieces and nephews.
Eldon was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marion (Thomas) Beadle, 2 brothers, Wilfred and Ralph (Lula) Wohlers; 2 nieces, Lynda Soenksen and Joan Webster; 2 nephew’s, Marty Budde and Ralph Wohlers, Jr.; and a brother in-law, Wayne Budde.
A memorial fund has been established in Eldon’s memory.
