Mrs. Henrietta E. Croods, 81 years old, a resident of Kingfisher county since 1889 died Friday evening. Her health had been gradually failing for several years as a result of advancing age, and a recent fall that sprained her hip and fractured her arm hastened the end.
Funeral sevices were held from Cordry and Young Funeral home on Main Street at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon. Rev. Wallace LInten, pastor of Union Chapel, officiated at the service. Internment was made in Hennessey Cemetery.
Hennrietta Hpper was born near Green Island Iowa March 7 1854 and departed this life at Hennessey
Okla, at the age of 81 years 8 months and 29 days.
She was united in marriage to Robert A. Crooks on August 8 1871
\Mr. and Mrs. Crooks pioneered in the state of Kansas at the opening of Oklahoma, migrated south to the new state in 1889, locating on a homestead eleven miles northwest of Hennessey, where they made teir home until failing health ten years ago made their removal to town advisable.
Mr. Crooks passed away ten years ago. Their five children survive both parents. W.J. Crooks of Down,KS. Mrs. D.W. Springmyers of Gray, Ok ,Mrs. Dock Taylor of Hennessey, OK, Mrs. C.L. Brittain of Eldorado, KS. and Mrs.E.H.Goucher of Hennessey OK. also 19 grandchildren and several great grandchildren
She was baptized and united with the True Followers church in 1903 and clung steadfastly to that faith to the end.
Mrs. Crooks was widely known as a true friend and neighbor and she will be sadly missed by family and friends.
