BELLEVUE, Iowa - Services for Verona Elizabeth Mary Thielen, 85, 914 N. Second St., Bellevue, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. John Lutheran Church, Bellevue, with the Rev. Solveig A.H. Zamzow officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Kingery-Gallaher Funeral Home, Bellevue, and after 1 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Mrs. Thielen worked at the Bellevue Hospital.

She was born on July 21, 1910, in Lowden, daughter of Louis and Sophia (Ohrogge) Ruchotzke. She died Thursday evening, March 21, 1996, at Mill Valley Care Center, Bellevue.

She married Fred H. Thielen on Dec. 18, 1929, at St. John Lutheran Church, Preston. They lived their entire married life in Jackson County.

She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Bellevue, and was a former Navy mother. She enjoyed embroidering pillow cases for grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband, Fred H. Thielen, of Bellevue; a son, Freddie L. (and special friend, Mary Ohnesorge) Thielen, of Bellevue; two daughters, Mrs. Harlan (Verona L.) Ketelsen, of Ajo, Ariz., and Mrs. Ray (Phyllis) Fishnick, of Dubuque; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Norma Yedoff, of Preston; and a brother, Elmer Ruchotzke, of Camanche.

She was preceded in death by 10 sisters and brothers.
