Obituary for Ilene Miller
Ilene Miller, age 87, of Sabula, Iowa passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at the Eagle Point Nursing Home in Clinton, Iowa. A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 11, 2017 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna, Illinois. Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, Sabula. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 11, 2017, prior to the service at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna.
Ilene was born February 7, 1930, in Platteville, Wisconsin, the daughter of Harold and Thelma (VanNatta) Reese. She attended a Georgetown Country School and is a graduate of the Cuba City High School with the Class of 1948. Ilene married James Edge in 1948, he died in 1951 due to a farming accident. She later married Jody Price, and he passed away in 1969. On March 21, 1970, Ilene married Robert Miller. They celebrated 34 years of marriage. Robert passed away on April 21, 2004.
Ilene worked as a Seamstress for many years, she also ironed the sheets for the Castle Bed & Breakfast in Sabula. Ilene was a member of Ducks Unlimited, VFW Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed birds, flowers, sewing, and was an avid bowler. Ilene loved the outdoors, she liked trap shooting, was a member of the Savanna Gun Club and often shot 25 straight birds. She also enjoyed fishing and duck hunting. Ilene cherished her family and the time they spent together.
Ilene will be dearly missed by her son Richard Edge of Cassville, Wisconsin; two daughters, Roberta (Helgie) Helvige of Sandes, Norway and Patsy (Doug Blindert) Valentine of Milltown, Wisconsin; eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; one sister, Veda (Clifford) Schultz of Belmont, Wisconsin. Ilene is preceded in death by her husband, Robert, both parents, two sons, one daughter, and a granddaughter.
