LA MOTTE, Iowa - Viola W. Bormann, 87, of rural La Motte, died Tuesday morning, April 28, 1998, at the Mill Valley Care Center, Bellevue.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, at St. John's Lutheran Church, St. Donatus, with the Rev. Michael Zamzow officiating. Burial will be in church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m., today at Carson & Son Funeral Home, Maquoketa.

Mrs. Bormann was a homemaker and farmed with her husband in the La Motte area for many years.

She was born on June 20, 1910, in La Motte, daughter of Fred and Regina (Ferricks) Wiegert. She married William J. Bormann on Nov. 23, 1932, in La Motte; he died on Dec. 28, 1987.

She was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church, St. Donatus. She also was a member of the Women's Evangelical Lutheran Church Association of St. John's Lutheran Church and St. Paul's Lutheran Church, in La Motte.

Surviving are three sons, Glen (Norma) and Vernon (Wanda), both of La Motte, and William C. (Norla), of Zwingle; three daughters, Mrs. Cornelius (Lois Ann) Bradley, of La Motte, Mrs. Eldon (Donna) Busch, of Bellevue, and Mrs. Bill (Verla) Beck, of Maquoketa; a brother, Fred Jr. (Mary) Wiegert, of Bellevue; three sisters, Lula Wohlers, of Dubuque, Mrs. Harvey (Helen) Duesing and Marie Hankemieler, both of Bellevue; 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, one step-grandchild and three step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister.

A Viola W. Bormann Memorial Fund has been established.
