BELLEVUE, Iowa - Albert W. Wiegert Sr., 89, of Bellevue, died Saturday evening, May 11, 1996, at Mill Valley Care Center, Bellevue.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, St. Donatus, with the Rev. Michael Zamzow officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Kingery-Gallagher Funeral Home, Bellevue, and after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

Mr. Wiegert farmed with his wife northwest of Bellevue, retiring in 1972.

He was born on March 10, 1907, in La Motte, son of Fred and Regina (Frerichs) Wiegert Sr. He married Elda M. Felderman on May 6, 1930, at St. John's Lutheran Church, St. Donatus.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, St. Donatus, and the Jackson County Farm Bureau.

Surviving are five sons, Laverne (Mary), Harold, Albert Jr. (Judy), all of Maquoketa, Raymond (Rita), of Bellevue, and Eldon (Sandy), of Loveland, Colo.; a daughter, Alverda Beck, of Preston; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four sisters, Viola Bormann, Mrs. Harvey (Helen) Duesing and Marie Hankemeier, all of Bellevue, and Lula Wohlers, of Dubuque; and three brothers, Karl, of Winthrop, Fred (Mary), of Bellevue, and Henry, of La Motte.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elda, on Jan. 1, 1993; his parents; a sister; and a son-in-law, John Beck.

Memorials may be given to St. John's Lutheran Church, St. Donatus.
