Rites Friday

Elmer H. Schlesch, 54, of La Motte, died at 7:45 a.m. at Bellevue Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 19, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, St. Donatus where the body will lie in state from 1 to 2 p.m., the time of the services. Rev. Merlin K. Norris will conduct the rites.

Friends may call today at the Didesch Funeral Home in Dubuque. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Elmer H. Schlesch was born May 10, 1909 at Bellevue, a son of the late Charles and Louise (Hertwigsen) Schlesch. He resided in La Motte most of his life and was employed at the lumber yard there.

He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. William (Louise) Schroeder of Dubuque, and Miss Marie Schlesch of La Motte, one brother, Paul of Kenosha, Wisc; nieces and nephews.
