Edmund F. O'Connell, 72, died Sunday afternoon, April 30, 1995, in St. Joseph's Unit, Mercy Health Center, Dubuque, after a sudden illness. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Garryowen. Burial: church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home, Cascade, where a Scripture wake service begins at 7 tonight.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia; three sons, John and Raymond, both of Bernard, and Leonard of Otter Creek; five daughters, Barb Schuster and Cathy Rubel, both of Zwingle, Laurie Morehead of Maquoketa, Judy Kruse of Bernard and Shirley Soliday of Yutan, Neb.; three sisters, Loretta Shanahan, Eileen Fassbinder and Rosemary Asbury, all of Dubuque; and a brother, James of Maquoketa.

Also surviving are 15 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; his mother-in-law, Rita McCarthy of Bernard; and a sister-in-law, Margie O'Connell of Dubuque.

An Edmund F. O'Connell Memorial Fund has been established.
