Marvin Charles Fischer, 18, was killed early Saturday morning in a one car accident four miles north of Cascade on County Road G.

Fischer, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Fischer, was driving south when his car struck a bridge abutment on the left side of the road.

A wrecker and a Cascade fire truck were used to pull the car apart so the body could be removed. Fischer was to have graduated with the 1970 class at Western Dubuque High School.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday morning from Devaney funeral home to St. Patrick’s Church, Garryowen. Burial was at St. Patrick’s Cemetery. The Rev. Wm. Arquitt offered the mass and officiated at the graveside. The Rev. Francis Phelan was present in the sanctuary.

Casket bearers were Wayne Cook, George Leifried, Craig Hildebrand, Dennis McDermott, Rickey McDonnell and Mark Fern.

Marvin Fisher was born November 30, 1951, a son of Lawrence and Esther (Loeffelholz) Fischer.

He is survived by his parents ; four brothers, Kenneth and Robert, of Dubuque, Ed and Paul, at home; seven sisters, Mrs. Ronald (Janet) Cook, Dubuque, Mary Dubuque, Bonnie, Debbie, Joan, Connie and Shelia at home. He was preceded in death by one brother.
