WILLIAM A. MCDONNELL

William A. McDonnell, Cascade, formerly of Bernard, who had been ill about six weeks, passed away Sunday morning at 5:20 a.m. at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Dubuque. The funeral was held from the Till-Didesch Funeral Home on Wednesday morning to St. Mary's church where the Rev. John F. Mauer officiated at the Requiem Mass at 10 o'clock. Burial was in St. Patrick's Cemetery, North Garryowen, the Rev. James Cassidy conducting the services.

The deceased was born at Garryowen, la., April 8, 1885, the son of the late Jeremiah and Margaret (Donovan) McDonnell. He was a retired farmer and also a member of St. Mary's church and the Holy Name Society of that parish.

His survivors include one sister, Miss Mary McDonnell, Cascade, several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and two sisters.

Pallbearers were Ambrose, Joseph, Paul, Raymond, Ignatius and Dorance McDonnell, all nephews of the deceased.
