Obituary

Funeral services for Wilfred L. McDonnell, former Bernard, Iowa businessman who passed away July 14 in Miami, Florida were held Thursday morning, July 18 at St. Patrick's Church, North Garryowen, la., with burial in St. Patrick's cemetery.

Pallbearers were, Leslie McCarthy, Leo Hirtz, Joe McDonnell, Joe Kenneally, Francis Gregorich and Clem English.

Wilfred McDonnell was born in Bernard, son of Dennis and Mary Ann Melloy McDonnell. He was married to the former Mary Connolly.

He was a well known businessman, having along with his wife, Mary, operated a general merchandise store in Bernard, Iowa until 1950 when they moved to Miami.

Surviving his passing are two sons, Dorrance L. of Dubuque, and Glenn W. of Miami; one grandson, David L.; four sisters, Mrs. Clem (Marie) Maloy, and Mrs. Earl (Madeline) Burke, both of Bernard, Mrs. Dorothy Lewin, Fort Dodge, Iowa and Mrs. Roberta Barnable, Oak Park, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his wife, in June of 1965.
